    Endorsed by the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the New Zealand Association of Plastic Surgeons, and approved by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Mr. Graeme Southwick, Mr. Morris Ritz, Mr. Andrew Greensmith, Mr. Damon Thomas, and Mr. Edmund Ek have great pleasure in inviting you to the 22nd Annual Advanced Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Workshop to be held at the Crown Conference Centre from 16 – 18 February 2018.

    The 2018 Workshop’s extensive program will provide an in-depth study of the most up to date techniques on Controversies and Management of Complex Aesthetic Breast Issues. We will incorporate controversial topics including augmentation mammoplasty and management of malposition, the inframammary fold, augmentation mastopexy one or two stage, management of the constricted breast, breast asymmetry, nipple reconstruction, breast reduction techniques and breast reconstruction. A team of local experts will join our experienced international guests to help make the 22nd Advanced Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Workshop a successful event once again.

    Our aim is to educate in the many aspects of refinement of breast aesthetics and to raise the standards of management for the betterment of our specialty and hence to improve patient outcomes.

    The Workshop will commence on Friday morning, 16 February 2018 and will finish at lunchtime on Sunday 18 February 2018. It will include didactic teaching, video presentations of surgical procedures and panels for discussion. Interaction of all participants with our guests will be encouraged. We encourage you to not only support this meeting, which has become entrenched in our yearly plastic surgery calendar, but also to become involved with all participants to help us make this a great meeting to the mutual benefit of all plastic surgeons, plastic surgery trainees, dedicated plastic surgery nurses and the industry.

    The Workshop is being held at the Crown Conference Centre in Southbank. Crown is located in the heart of the action at Melbourne’s vibrant Southbank entertainment precinct. Crown Conference Centre is adjacent to the Crown Entertainment Complex, close to the CBD, the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, and the city’s most famous arts and sporting facilities.

    • Augmentation mammoplasty – preferred technique to avoid complications, best implant for set of circumstances, management of secondary issues -malposition, capsules, synmastia, seroma/infection, ALCL, etc.
    • Mastopexy & Augmentation Mammoplasty – preferred technique in primary and secondary, how to get a long lasting result, planning the operation, complications and management. One or two stage Aug-mastopexy. Revision rates and how to lower this.
    • Management of the constricted breast.
    • Management of breast asymmetry.
    • Breast reduction technique and planning – management of complications, what to do in secondary reduction.
    • The use of fat grafting to the breast, the role of ADM and its shortcomings.
    • Nipple reconstruction.
    • Management of NAC malposition.
    • Mastectomy reconstruction – autologous vs expander/DTI reconstruction with or without ADM.

    Dennis Hammond, MD

    Dennis Hammond, MD, is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  He received his MD and undergraduate education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor; his combined general surgery and plastic surgery training at the Grand Rapids Area Medical Education Center also in Michigan.  He completed 2 fellowships; the first in Aesthetic & Reconstructive surgery of the breast and the second in Hand and Microsurgery.  His primary areas of specialization are:  aesthetic breast surgery, breast reconstruction, and revisionary breast surgery and body contouring.  As a widely respected international speaker, Dr. Hammond is in continual demand to lecture at peer-level conferences worldwide and in the U.S.  He designed and developed the SPAIR short scar breast reduction technique; has developed and marketed his own tissue expander for breast reconstruction, developed the internationally utilized BodyLogic evaluation system used for implant sizing in breast augmentation and has participated in nearly every known breast implant study since 1990.

    He has authored numerous publications and book chapters, co-edited two textbooks on breast surgery, has authored his own Atlas of Aesthetic Breast Surgery and he continues to pursue an active clinical and research interest in every aspect of aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery.

    Dr. Jim Namnoum is a renowned expert in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery as well as aesthetic body contouring and facial cosmetic surgery. He has lectured in national and international plastic surgery symposia covering a full gamut of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the breasts and body.

    With his reputation and commitment to technological advancements in plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Namnoum has access to trial many of the industry’s newest technologies. He has made numerous contributions to the advancement of plastic surgery of the breast and body utilizing highly cohesive anatomical breast implants, autologous fat transfer, and dermal matrices. His patients are also among the first with access to cutting edge technology designed to improve patient experience such as 3D simulation imaging and patient consultation software at his Atlanta practice.

    Serving as a board member on Allergan Breast Aesthetics’ Executive Council, Dr. Namnoum conducts studies to refine technology for women undergoing cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery. Techniques to reduce the risk of capsular contracture after breast augmentation and to correct implant malposition are among his many contributions.  With his interest in highly cohesive breast implants, Dr. Namnoum has participated as an investigator of Allergan’s 410 style implants for over 8 years. He also furthers his research as Co-President of Innovative Biologics, a research company investigating the development of biologically integrated implants for use in breast reconstruction.

    In addition to breast procedures, Dr. Namnoum has wide experience in body contouring procedures including abdominoplasty, belt lipectomy, buttock enhancement with fat transfer, and liposuction. He has treated many post-bariatric patients, designing aesthetic solutions to correct excess skin and fat over the entire body and breasts.

    Dr. Namnoum is also the Medical Director of AYA™ Medical Spa, owned and operated by Atlanta Plastic Surgery, P.C., which provides the latest, minimally invasive medical-grade treatments. He is an expert on anti-aging procedures of the skin including laser resurfacing, intense pulse light treatments to correct sun damage, autologous fat transfer, chemical peels, skin care and cosmetic injectables. Dr. Namnoum performs many adjunctive non-surgical cosmetic procedures such as Botox®, dermal fillers, and laser skin resurfacing treatments.

    A graduate of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Dr. Namnoum completed his residencies at Johns Hopkins Hospital followed by a Fellowship in breast surgery with Carl Hartrampf, M.D., a pioneer in breast reconstruction and Co-Founder of Atlanta Plastic Surgery. Dr. Namnoum is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of numerous societies including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgery, the Georgia Society of Plastic Surgery, the Medical Association of Atlanta, and the Medical Association of Georgia. Dr. Namnoum also teaches as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Emory University.

    Dr. Namnoum’s medical team includes Cindi White, who has been his administrative assistant for 20 years and Allison Manning, R.N., who has been with him for over 10 years. Dr. Namnoum and his team is committed to providing the personalized care and attention for each patient. He and his team focus on building a warm, caring, and supportive environment for all patients.

    Dr. Namnoum is married to Anne B. Namnoum, M.D., with whom he has six children, ages 15 to 24 years. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, cooking, fitness training, and spending time with his family. He is also a wine enthusiast.

    Dr. Namnoum is affiliated with the Northside Sandy Springs Outpatient Surgery Center, Northside Hospital, and Piedmont Hospital. He is also founder of the Pink Ribbon Story Foundation, a 501(C)(3) non-profit, that honors breast cancer survivors and shares their courageous stories to help other breast cancer patients.

    Dr Charles Randquist

    Dr Randquist has been a Board Certified Plastic surgeon since 1996 and received his degree at Karolinska Institute and Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm and Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, sub-specializing in Microsurgery.

    In the year 2000 he opened his own private hospital, Victoriakliniken (www.victoriakliniken.com).

    Due to his experience since 1996 with form-stable, anatomical implants, his main focus became primary and re-constructive breast surgery.  Over the years he has conducted studies on implants by various manufactures trying to understand the multi-level complexity of these procedures and the impact of different texturing, gels, shape and surgical technique on outcomes.

    Since 2005 Dr Randquist offers Preceptorships in “How to run your best breast practice” based on the principals of the 5 P´s in his clinic, emphasizing on how to create predictable outcomes with less short-/ and long-term complications. Regardless of implant type or shape or texturing.

    Dr Randquist believes in a simple message when teaching.

    “There is no perfect implant for every patient, nor is there a perfect implant for every Doctor. However there will always be better choices “

    Professor Marcos Sforza

    Professor Marcos Sforza is an accomplished and respected aesthetic surgeon who is currently the Scientific Medical Director of My Breast, UK. He also leads and develops research interests at the UNIFESO School of medicine, where he resides as Professor of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and is responsible for the Elective Internship in Plastic Surgery. Under his guidance, the internship provides a regional nucleus of postgraduate education and training, alongside medical research and development.

    Mr. Sforza was brought up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he was trained by the world-renowned plastic surgeon Ivo Pitanguy. Immediately after finishing his training, he was invited to remain at Professor Pitanguy’s School as a teaching instructor for the residents. On moving to England, he embarked on his selected career as a plastic surgeon, consulting at the London’s famous Harley Street, Southampton and Birmingham in the UK.

    Mr. Sforza is a prolific published author of over 40 peer renowned papers, book chapters and articles on burn care, trauma, and reconstruction and in aesthetic surgery. He was awarded the Best Scientific Exhibit Award in 2009 and 2011 by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and his work (through his students) was awarded the Heckett Memorial Prize in 2012 and the Highly Recommended Prize in 2013, both given by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS).

    Mr Sforza is an active member of a number of professional associations such as: SBCP, Aexpi, ASPS, IFATS, ISAPS. He is frequently invited as a speaker in most of the Plastic Surgery meetings worldwide, with an average of 30 international lectures and courses given per year.

    Registration fee inclusions

    Full Conference registration fee for Surgeons and Registrars, includes lectures, discussion of surgery, official meeting documents, lunch and coffee breaks and admission to the Gala Dinner. Accommodation, meals for partners and additional tickets for the Social Functions are not included in the registration fee.

    Plastic Surgery & nursing staff and Plastic Surgery trainees are encouraged to attend at the subsidised registration fee. Full workshop registration includes all the lectures, meals and bus transfers, as well as a ticket to the Gala Dinner.

    Additional tickets can be purchased for the social functions should you wish to bring a guest.

    Day registrations do not include tickets to any social functions.

    Cancellation Policy

    *To allow us to meet our conference commitments, registrations received after January 12th 2018 will be subject to a price increase (see table above). Any registrations made onsite at the event or online during the event are subject to an additional fee.
    Cancellations made prior to December 31 will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations made between January 1 and January 31 2018 are subject to a $300 cancellation fee. No refunds will be made following February 1 2017 due to commitments that will be made at this time to the venues.

    Please note credit card surcharges will not be refunded at any stage.
