Endorsed by the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the New Zealand Association of Plastic Surgeons (NZAPS), and approved by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), the plastic surgeons of The Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery have great pleasure in inviting you to attend the 27th Advanced Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Workshop (AAPSW) to be held at the Crown Conference Centre from 20th-21th February, 2026.

The 2026 workshop will focus on ‘The Art of Facial Surgery’, and will highlight the latest techniques and innovations in facial aesthetics.
The 2026 workshop will include didactic teaching, video presentations of topical surgical procedures along with discussion panels, live marking and audience Q&A opportunities. A host of talented local experts will also be included in the program to ensure that the 28th AAPSW provides another year of strong educational content to all attending.

We wish to raise the standards of management for the betterment of the specialty and hence to improve patient outcomes, as well as to raise the bar in an already high standard plastic surgery community.

As has become tradition, the workshop is once again being held at the Crown Conference Centre in Melbourne, Australia. The Crown complex is a landmark of this remarkable city and located at the heart of the action in Melbourne’s vibrant Southbank entertainment precinct. The Conference centre sits adjacent to the Crown Entertainment Complex, Promenade, Metropol and Crown Towers hotels, is only a short walk to the CBD and only moments from the city’s world renowned arts and sporting precincts

Dr. Francisco G. Bravo is an internationally renowned, board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in facial, aesthetic, reconstructive, and microsurgery. He earned his PhD in Surgery (Cum Laude) from the Complutense University of Madrid and completed advanced fellowship training at the prestigious New York University Medical Center. An internationally respected speaker and educator, Dr. Bravo has trained and lectured alongside leading surgeons worldwide. He is recognized for developing innovative surgical techniques and is dedicated to advancing safer, more natural aesthetic outcomes through clinical excellence, research, and education.
Yan Trokel, M.D. is a board certified surgeon specializing in facial aesthetic contouring. His areas of expertise include cosmetic facial surgery, endoscopic surgery, reconstructive surgery of the soft and hard tissues following cancer resection or trauma, orthognathic and craniofacial surgery.

Dr. Trokel is the Founder and Director of Y LIFT. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery; the American Association of Maxillofacial Surgeons; and the American Medical Association. Dr. Trokel also serves as a Facial Cosmetic Surgery Consultant in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, NY and Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, NY.

Dr.Trokel completed his undergraduate training and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Hofstra University. He then earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Columbia University School of Dental & Oral Surgery where he was the recipient of many awards and honors of excellence, including the Percy T. Phillips Visiting Professional Scholar Award in 1996. Upon graduating Magna Cum Laude, Dr. Trokel was awarded membership in the National Dental Honors Society and was accepted to The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and the prestigious Parkland Memorial Hospital program in Maxillofacial Surgery. Following his Medical Degree, Dr. Trokel then completed a rigorous internship in General Surgery. After earning his certificate in Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Trokel completed fellowship training in Cosmetic Surgery at the Willowbend Cosmetic Surgery Center under the direction of Dr. Stephen Watson.

Dr. Trokel has been featured in numerous prominent publications, including Forbes Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, The New York Times Style Magazine, Town & Country Magazine, The Daily Mail and has made numerous T.V. and Radio appearances. He has collaborated and contributed to medical journals and research in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery and frequently lectures around the world on advanced facial rejuvenation surgery and other innovative technologies.
