The 2017 Workshop’s extensive program will provide an in-depth study of the most up to date techniques on THE AGEING FACE – NEW HORIZONS. We will incorporate concepts for refreshing, rejuvenating and in some cases reconstructing the eyelids, brow, face and neck – including new ideas and as well as ancillary procedures. A team of local experts will join our experienced international guests to help make the 21st Advanced Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Workshop a successful event once again.
Our aim is to educate in the many aspects of the ageing face and to raise the standards of management for the betterment of our specialty and hence to improve patient outcomes. The Workshop will commence with a welcome cocktail party on the evening of Thursday 9th February 2017 and finish at lunchtime on Sunday 12th February 2017. It will include didactic teaching, video presentations of surgical procedures and panels for discussion. Interaction of all participants with our guests will be encouraged.
We encourage you to not only support this meeting, which has become entrenched in our yearly plastic surgery calendar, but also to become involved with all participants to help us make this a great meeting to the mutual benefit of all plastic surgeons, plastic surgery trainees, dedicated plastic surgery nurses and the industry.
Once again the Workshop is being held at the Crown Conference Centre in Southbank. Crown is located in the heart of the action — Melbourne’s vibrant Southbank entertainment precinct. Crown Conference Centre is adjacent to the Crown Entertainment Complex, close to the CBD, the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, and the city’s most famous arts and sporting facilities.

Guest Professors
Dr. Bahman Guyuron is a graduate of Tehran University Medical School. He completed a residency in general surgery at Boston University in 1978 and a residency in plastic surgery at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1980. Dr. Guyuron also completed a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at Toronto University Hospital for Sick Children in 1980. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Guyuron has served as Director of the Section of Craniofacial Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (1981-1983), Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at the former Mt. Sinai Medical Center (1986-1993). After serving as the Division Chief for 14 months and chairing the Department that he founded for almost 8 years at University Hospital Case Medical Center and Case School of Medicine, he has transitioned to private practice in January 2015 with full continued commitment to residency education and research within the department that he has developed, under the title of Emeritus Professor.
Starting his career with a primary focus in craniofacial surgery, Dr. Guyuron has since applied these principles to aesthetic surgery, where he has developed an international reputation for his innovations in rhinoplasty and facial aesthetic surgery. Over the last 16 years, he has captured the attention of the medical and surgical communities with the development of the surgical treatment of migraine headaches with over 40 peer reviewed publications on this topic alone.
Dr. Guyuron has published over 250 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 57 book chapters, and 5 textbooks. He currently serves as Editor in Chief of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He serves as an Associate Editor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Guyuron has been intimately involved in the education of plastic surgery through his participation in over 1275 presentations at regional, national, and international conferences. He has lectured in over 30 countries and has served as a Visiting Professor in every respected US medical school. He is a member of 10 professional organizations. Dr. Guyuron has served in leadership roles in numerous professional organizations in plastic surgery, including the American Board of Plastic Surgery where he served as a director from 2005-2011. He also served as the President of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation, The Rhinoplasty Society, Northeast Ohio Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and Ohio Valley Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He has received numerous awards for his accomplishments from every prestigious plastic surgery organization. He also serves on the board of several civil and public organizations. His entrepreneurial activities include inventions of multiple medical and non-medical devices.
Former President of SOFCEP in 2001 and of SOFCPRE in 2010 (the french society for plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery), Dr Le Louarn is currently sitting at the “Conseil des Sages” of the SOFCPRE and chairs its Aesthetic Chapter. He also founded the Vigilance committee of this scientific society – which he dedicated to safety of medical technologies and devices. He is also the President of French commission for Standardization of Aesthetic Surgery Services and the french representative to ICOBRA.
In the aesthetic field, he developed among other techniques: the Concentric Malar Lift, the High Superior Tension Abdominoplasty, the use of variable concentrations in botulinum injections, and more recently the Hyo Neck Lift which enables more sustainable results
Board certified in General Surgery at the University of Rome and in Plastic Surgery at the University of Rio de Janeiro and Rome. Former President of the Italian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (AICPE). Chairman of AICPE International President of the International Medical Academy. Member of several international societies (ISAPS, ASAPS, ASPS etc). Travelling Professor for the ISAPS. Has published over 70 papers in international reviews mainly on aesthetic surgery.
Author of a two volumes book on “ Aesthetic surgery of midface and neck”, a 2011 publication. He is Professor of plastic surgery at the University of Padova, Italy. Director of Dissection Course Program at the University of Vienna. Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Hesperia Hospital, Modena and Villa Margherita, Rome.
Official reviewer of Aesthetic Surgery Journal and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal Global Open. Appointed with the Hinderer Prize by EASAPS in 2012 and by the Raymond Vilain Award by the ASAPS in 2014.
He is deeply dedicated to teaching in surgical dissections courses on cadavers and international congresses. He teaches in two University Master Courses and lectures in several worldwide courses of aesthetic surgery. He has been in practice in plastic surgery for the last 30 years and has performed over 20.000 operations in this field.
